Besides 12 years in prison, Platon should pay fine of 300 000 lei
Veaceslav Platon was sentenced to 12 years in prison. In his second criminal file, the No.1 raider in CSI was accused of swindle attempt in big proportions and active corruption. Also, the defendant should pay 300 000 lei fine.
"Veaceslav Platon is declared guilty. The final punishment sentences him to 12 years in prison and six thousand conventional units", said Galina Moscaliuc, attorney.
According to the sentence, Veaceslav Platon tried to briber the employees of Pantera Detachment with Special Purpose who joined him at the court hearings.
The No.1 raider in CSI haven't show up today at the Magistracy.
"The punishment is more gentle than the one prosecutors asked. We will analyze the arguments and then we will decide to contest is or not", said Alexandru Cernei, prosecutor.
The two accomplices were sentenced today. One was imprisoned for eight years, while the other, for three years.
"They know each other since long ago, but they have nothing in common, according to this case. Thus, we will attack them with an appeal", said Victor Mazniuc, lawyer.
In april 2017, Veaceslav Platon was sentenced to 18 years for fraud and money laundering in big proportions within the Economy Bank file.
The sentence was contested at the Court of Appeal.
Platon was detained in June 2016, in Kiev, after what he was declared in international search.
