Government approved contract between Republic of Moldova and BEI
Today, the Government approved the funding contract between Moldova and EBI-Romania.
Thus, Octavian Calmic, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure was the one authorized to sign the contract.
The Energy Strategy 2030 provides the development possibility of the interconnection projects in asynchronous with Romania by constructing Back-to-Back converters, maintaining the possibility to work in synchronously regime with the Ukraine energy system.
The contract refers to construction and infrastructure development, that are necessary for the permanent interconnection of the transport and electric energy networks of Moldova and Romania.
Also, the contract consists of the equipping and commissioning of the electrical interconnection between Moldova and Romania, that consists of: a back-to-back station in Vulcanesti, a transport line of 400kV between Vulcanesti and Chisinau, the extension of the transformation station from Chisinau, Republic of Moldova and thee extension of 400kV station from Vulcanesti.
According to the Government, the contract will come into force no later than 24 months after signing the borrowing agreement.
