The capital is going to change some 40-year-old elevators in city's apartments. 

According to Interim Mayor Silvia Radu, ten million lei could be redirected from the budget of another area and another the nine million lei was provided in this respect for 2018.

Then the budget would afford to purchase almost 40 elevators. 

The initiative is to be approved by municipality council. 

"I stayed with Mr. Gontea and I reviewed the budget planned for 2018 at his direction and found reserved fund. At Green Space they used to plan to procure crane and equipment. Then this money has been reallocated to purchase new elevators, "said Silvia Radu, interim mayor of Chisinau.

According to representatives of the Liftservice, 26 percent of the elevators in the capital age more than 25 years. 36 percent of them were installed and has been used since 1981.
