Luxury houses' owners have two more days to pay taxes
Only 27% of the luxury houses owners paid the taxes for 2017. The ones who didn't manage can do it till December 26, otherwise each day they were late will be penalized. This year, the state plans to cash in over 43 million lei from the taxes income. The sum is smaller than in 2016, because the Moldovans found other ways to avoid the taxes.
In the present moment, in our country there are 2287 houses placed on a 120 square meters surface that are worth 1,5 million lei. In 2016, the number of those were 411 higher.
"This difference can be explained by the fact during the year, there were operated many transactions with the immobile goods. This means somebody bought immobile goods", said Olga Golban, the chief of the taxes direction.
The representatives of the treasury say some Moldovans have chosen to escape from the luxury house through other methods. For example, the owners spread the house into two and added another person in the acts. The lawyers say it is a legal way to avoid the taxes and it can't be punished.
"In the whole world, the persons who can avoid to pay the taxes and do it in such a way is not considered illegally. There are donations, selling-buying process, the surface of the building decreases to the admissible limits", said Vitalie Nagacevschi, lawyer.
The ones who are fulfilling their state obligation can do it till Tuesday, December 26. The taxes can be payed through internet of bank. According to the State Fiscal Service, in 2016 almost 40% of the owners were penalized.
"The punishment for a late day is 0, 0384%, which is equal with 5 lei for a day on a 12 thousand tax."
The last year, the state gained almost 50 millions lei from the wealth taxes.
