Enjoying a vacation without clothes, or 'nakationing' is the most 'natural' way in the world to enjoy a holiday - and it seems more people agree with this than ever before, writes dailymail.co.uk.

While romping on a beach or enjoying a luxury resort naked isn't for everyone, there are plenty who embrace the lifestyle and the fad is rapidly rising in popularity. 

From nude karaoke to bare barbeques - here FEMAIL takes a look at the kinky hotels and resorts people are staying at as the 'nakation' becomes one of the hottest holiday trends of 2018

 1. KATI KATI NATURIST PARK - NEW ZEALAND 

Set among lush greenery, the park offers a safe and secluded spot for those wishing to embrace a naturist lifestyle.

The park's website states clothing in non-optional, with guests 'expected to go clothes-free whenever the weather is suitable'.

Those looking for a little light-hearted fun after the sun goes down can also take part in the park's world-renowned nudieoke (nude karaoke). 

2. HERITAGE AUSTRALIA CLUB - SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

The NSW-based Heritage Australia Club bills itself as Australia's oldest nudist club in operation.

The retreat, set among 25 hectares of native bush, was established in 1949 for all Australians wanting to enjoy a lifestyle unrestricted by clothes.

According to the club's website, those holidaying at the site can expect to enjoy 'lovely summer days filled with rest and play, lots of walks and swims and some dancing going on till late in the night'.

In true Aussie tradition, there's also regular (bare) barbequeing - though members are cautioned to take care when cooking naked over an open flame.

3. HEDONISM II - JAMAICA

Stepping away from the more tame end of the scale is the aptly named luxury resort Hedonism II.

A survey by travel website Trivago revealed it's on the list of the most popular places in the world to nakation, as revealed by traveller hotel bookings.

Earning itself a 6/10 rating on the raunchiest scale is Hedonism II, a four-star resort on the island of Jamaica that offers luxury nakationing at it's best.

With 280 luxury suites on offer, the facility also includes an outdoor swimming pool, private nude beach and nightly adult-themed entertainment.

For the more adventurous, there's also the 'Romping Shop' - a playroom that offers couples and singles an intimate mingling experience.

4. HIDDEN BEACH RESORT - AU NATUREL CLUB - MEXICO

Keeping things spicy with a 7/10 raunchy rating is Mexico's Hidden Beach Resort - Au Naturel Club.

The five-star resort, set on a white sandy stretch of pristine Cancun beach, not only offers a dedicated luxury vacation experience, it's also a nudist haven.

Guests enjoying a relaxing stay at the Hidden Beach Resort can partake in nudist dining, nude bars, and dance the night away in a nude disco. 

 5. DESIRE RIVIERA MAYA RESORT - MEXICO

Clearly, Mexico is the place you want to go if you're after a slightly more saucy holiday.

Desire Riviera Maya Resort, which comes in at 8/10 on Trivago raunchiest scale, invites couples, and like-minded guests, to enjoy 'a world of erotic pleasure'.

In addition to four-person jacuzzis, the facility features gourmet restaurants featuring erotically-themed food and a spa menu with a 'fantasy' menu.

Paris has long been called the city of love and romance.
