Searches at ANSA. Three persons detained in case of falsification auction's results
The Head of Property Management and Internal Management of the National Agency for Food Safety, the director of the Republican Center for Veterinary Diagnosis and the representative of a private company were detained. They are suspected of bidding for auctions to buy rabies vaccines in animals. In the course of two years, the suspects would have harmed the state 20 million lei.
Prosecutors for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes searched in the office and suspects' cars. Head of Property Management and Internal Management of ANSA refused to make press releases, neither did the lawyers.
According to the investigators, the group has been active for about two years. The suspects falsified the documents and trumpeted the results of the auctions to favor a particular firm that won the contest, although it proposed higher prices. Moreover, the preparations were of poor quality and could not be used as intended, which is why this vaccine was not used for two years in the country.
"In 2016 an auction was organized in which it won another economic entity, not the one that appeared in the criminal case. Because it was not profitable for the staff of the agency, they did everything possible to prevent the contract signing with this enterprise" , said Eugen Bordos, Prosecutor PCCOCS.
If found guilty, the suspects risk up to 15 years of jail.
