A tragedy occurred in the family of Straseni deputy mayor. Elena Pereu's 50 year old husband died after he got intoxicated with carbon monoxide. The woman and her 10 year old child were hospitalized. Now, they are in coma.

The tragedy took place on the night from Thursday to Friday. The daughter of the couple fell asleep at one of her grandmothers. In the morning, she found those three. Her father died until the doctors came, while his wife and son are in comatose. Because of the big snow, the doctors brought the boy to the hospital in their arms and then, they returned after his mother.

"The condition of the patients is grave. We appealed the AVIASAN emergency medical assistance. The boy was transported with the pediatric reanimatologist doctor in grave condition. The mother was hospitalized in No.3 hospital", said Olga Cerlei, the deputy chief of Straseni District Hospital.

Elena Pereu is the deputy mayor of Straseni town since December, 2017.

"The situation is tragic and we should make the all possible to help and save them. We hope that the doctors will save the life of Elena and her son", says Valentina Casian , the mayor of Straseni town.

"She is very active and she has always have a good mood. From the first days, she managed to catch the attention of the whole team. She is a very positive woman", said Ludmila Croitor, colleague.

The news shocked everybody:

"I was shocked when I have heard the news. Yesterday I saw how he brought his child from the kindergarten."

According to the preliminary information of the police, the family got intoxicated because of the smoke that came from the chimney.

"It was established that the family doesn't have a ventilation system and the chimney was built wrong and against the safety rules", said Vlad Burac, IGP press officer.

People of the law will establish the circumstances of the case.
