The youth's awareness of history will be focused in commemoration of Holocaust victims. The request was launched by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu.
In message on the International Holocaust Victims Remembrance Day, the head of the Legislature states that the youth should be aware of the fight against intolerance, anti-Semitism, xenophobia and racism.
Candu mentioned that in memory of the six million Jews killed, we have an obligation not to allow the violence and extermination of people on ethnic or religious grounds.
On January 27, according to the UN decision, the International Day of Remembrance of Holocaust Victims is marked in most countries of the world. At present, 60 former detainees are still alive in Moldova.
