Prison staff will receive higher wages starting from January 1st. 

According to the officers of the Department of Penitentiary Institutions, the salary of an employee will increase by an average of 500 lei.

Thus, the medium and senior staff will receive a salary of between 5,300 and 8,800 lei. Junior staff will earn between 4,600 and 5,800 lei.

In total, more than 2,000 penitentiary employees will benefit from this change.

Nearly 120,000 public servants receive wage increases since the beginning of the year.
