Like any excited bride to be, Tiffany Wright has spent hours trying on wedding dresses in order to find the perfect look for the big day.

But actually Tiffany is already married and this is just another part of her job as 'The Undercover Bridesmaid'.

The actual bride is one of her latest clients. She's getting married in London but lives in the US - so is relying on Tiffany to find her a dress that will suit her and the location.

She takes pictures of her modelling the gowns - then sends them off to her client for approval.

Tiffany describes herself as a "professional bridesmaid". Not only does she help brides and bridesmaids with planning in the run up to the big day, she can even be hired as a secret bridesmaid for the day itself. This means she will dress like all the other bridesmaids and even keep up the pretence that she has known the bride for years - when in fact she has actually been hired as a professional to make sure everything goes to plan.

"When I got married I had six bridesmaids. However on the day of my wedding I really felt that I couldn't ask them to do all of the boring, dirty work jobs. So it got me thinking, and I thought what would happen if you could actually have a professional that you pay to be your bridesmaid and therefore you can ask them to do anything that you need them to do?" she explains.

She describes her role as being anything from a bridal PA to a psychiatrist.

In this behind the scenes footage she filmed of herself during a recent wedding she explains how she had to rush out to get nail varnish remover before the wedding after one bridesmaid dropped nail varnish down her dress. She also has to convince everyone she is a long term friend of the bride:

"I have apparently known Katherine (the bride) since we were on gap year together in Australia. Obviously this is all actually complete rubbish, I met Katherine six weeks ago," she says.

Afterwards she suspects one of the other bridesmaids may have been suspicious about why she had never heard of her before: "But by the end of it I think she realised that I was doing a lot to kind of help," says Wright.

When not attending weddings Tiffany runs her Undercover Bridesmaid business from her house in Chiswick. Today she is conducting a consultation over Skype with bridesmaid-to-be Georgina Childs, on how she can be a supportive bridesmaid on the day.

"I make sure that everyone has their individual role. So it could be as simple as one of them is just the emotional support for the bride, so if the bride suddenly has a meltdown then that's the friend that's going to look after her," she says to Childs.

As well as one-to-one consultations Tiffany also puts vlogs and tips on her website. Today she is recording a masterclass tailored to one very important bride-to-be - Meghan Markle - the Hollywood actress due to marry Britain's Prince Harry on 19 May 2018.

Having recently announced that Markle will be giving a speech at the wedding Wright's top tip is: "Make sure that your speech is no shorter than five minutes but no longer than ten minutes."

Afterwards she says her best advice would be to pause and take it all in before walking down the aisle: "It's so important to look at your surroundings, to realise oh my goodness this is my wedding day and to just enjoy every minute of it."

Back at the wedding dress shop designer and shop owner Emma Victoria Payne predicts that Meghan will wear something along these lines:

"Very modern, I think quite clean lines, quite contemporary. I think possibly a high neckline with some sleeves. But I think she'll keep it quite simple but really beautifully cut."

She adds that whatever she wears will set the next bridal trends.

Anyone who has planned or even been part of a wedding knows how stressful they can be - so having bespoke help such as Tiffany's would be welcome relief for many.

According to recent figures from Consumer Lifestyles Analysts at the Market Intelligence Agency Mintel: 61 per cent of wedding attendees believe weddings have become too competitive and 67 per cent agree that weddings have become too extravagant. 17 per cent of newlyweds planning a wedding in the next three years says they would like guests to think that their wedding was better than any others they have attended.

That's an awful lot of pressure to put onto just one day. But when you have an Undercover Bridesmaid, or a "Wedding Guardian Angel" as Tiffany describes herself, some of that stress should hopefully be transformed into sparkle.
