112 Emergency number will be available starting the end of March
The European emergency number 112 is in its last stages, all the actions so far and those that will following be taken were discussed today in a sitting, hosted by Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
According to the presented information, two headquarters for the emergency Center from Chisinau were acquired and a single information system was purchased for calls to be overtaken.
The bought technology is one of the latest in Europe, being implemented by this point only in Sweden and Denmark. It brings forward a number of new essential options: geolocation, taking over video calls directly from CordCom platform, taking over messages, capturing and introducing in the system pictures and videos from other devices. Therefore, blind and deaf people will encounter no issues in calling 112 service.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip has underlined that critical situations demand urgent actions, when each second can be the last, while the new technology will greatly reduce the time required for help to arrive.
The Government's chief has requested for all necessary actions to be taken for the single emergency line 112 to be implemented as efficiently as possible.
It will be functioning starting the end of March 2018, containing the numbers 901, 902 and 903.
112 is a single number for emergency calls used in all member states of European Union. It is a service that works non-stop and each citizen can call for free using a stationary phone or cell phone.
