An attorney from Capital was arrested for 72 hours by Anticorruption officers and prosecutors on suspicion of influence peddling. The 63-year-old old man has supposedly taken 1 000 euro from his clients to influence public figures from a court and to convince them to take a favorable decision.

He is also suspected of taking 500 euro from one of his clients in order to offer bribery to a construction technician, who, in his turn, was supposed to make an examination for the client.

On the attorney's name was opened a criminal file according to article 326 of the penal code- influence peddling. If found guilty, the man risks to 7 years behind bars. At the moment he is under the custody of National Anticorruption Center, the investigation being led by Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office.

This attorney was arrested before in a corruption case, the files being send to the court. In 2017, Anticorruption officers and prosecutors have arrested 24 lawyers, suspected of corruption.
