New direction road signs installed showing the way to Briceni-Rossoșani and Larga-Kelmențî Customs
11 new direction road sign informing drivers of ways to reach Briceni-Rossoșani and Larga-Kelmențî crossing points were installed in the North.
The signs were a necessity in order to prevent intense traffic in Criva-Mamaliga Customs, despite Larga-Kelmențî and Briceni-Rossoșani crossing points being nearby, usually rather empty. It is caused by the fact that the GPS always selects the nearest Customs, but also that not many drivers know of the other two existing crossing points.
Therefore, Prime Minister Pavel Filip ordered for solutions to be found in order to ease the traffic in Criva-Mamaliga Customs. Border Guards forwarded to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure the idea to install more direction road sign indicating the way to Briceni-Rossoșani and Larga-Kelmențî Customs.
The new direction road sign are installed on:
- - M5, border with Ukraine-Criva-Bălți-Chișinău-Tiraspol-border with Ukraine – 5 traffic signs;
- - R11, border with Ukraine-Briceni-Ocnița-Otaci-R8 – 1 traffic sign;
- - G1, R11-Briceni-Cotiujeni-Larga-border with Ukraine –3 traffic signs;
- - G2, M5-Hlina-Cotelea-Larga-G1 – 2 traffic signs.
The signs have a distance of 17 km, 5 km and 4 km from the Customs, being installed at crossroads that usually pose a problem for travelers.
