76 km of local roads will be repaired starting September 2018. Namely, the highways that will be repaired are: Criuleni-Orhei, Nisporeni-Ungheni and one from Călăraşi. The project will be implemented with the financial support of the World Bank. State Road Administration claims that it is already looking for companies willing to do the work.
"The 33 km highway that ties Criuleni and Orhei will be asphalted and illuminated. The road goes through 11 settlements where close to 23 000 people live."
One of the villages who will enjoy the new road is Izbişte, Criuleni district. Villagers claim that they need such changes.
"We spend much money to repaid our cars, a new road will be amazing."
"They need to repair the road because it's in an awful state."
"It has been many years since anything was done. I need to repair my car 2, 3 times per year."
The settlement's mayor claims that new roads might bring some investors into the village, which would mean a lot for locals.
"Those from villages are sick of those roads, especially when snow melts. The more road cars can cover, the more the economy will develop" mayor of Izbişte, Ion Plămădeală said.
The news made locals from the neighbor village, Hârtop, happy.
"The road is very bad. Of course it has to be repaired."
"Since Soviet Union nothing was done with the road. If it is done for the people this is very good."
Companies specializing in road repaid who wish to participate in the auction will have to respect numerous terms, such as having enough funds on their own to launch the repaid works. The deadline for submitting offers being 18 April.
"They need to have at least 5 year experience in the field, have all the necessary equipment" deputy director of State Road Administration, Sergiu Polisciuc said.
The project was launched in 2016, its total budget being of 75 million USD. From those money, by 2021 will be repaired 300 km of roads.
