Pavel Filip: We want a friendly relationship with Russia
We need more clarity, stability and certainty in the International relationships. This is the massage Pavel Filip transmitted at a press conference in Munchen. The prime minister said that Moldova wants to continue it European Integration path and the desire to have balanced and friendly relations with Russian Federation.
At the discussions also participated Janannes Hann, European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Constantin Kosacoiv, the president of the Russian Committee for foreign affairs and Serzh Sargsyan, the president of Armenia.
"The future has become more unpredictable, both in terms of relations between major powers and in different regions of the world. Unpredictability in turn generates a lack of trust in institutions and rules, political disorientation, discourages investment, which affects economic growth."
Prime Minister Filip pointed out that this uncertainty affects different states in the region, faced with both internal and geopolitical problems. To this is added the complicated relationship with Russia and the lack of a strategic direction of development.
"The Republic of Moldova is confronted with all these problems to a different extent, but it tries to solve them or diminish them. We are promoting an ambitious reform agenda based on the Association Agreement with the EU. "
With regard to relations with Russia, the prime minister spoke about the necessity of a dialogue based on mutual respect.
"We want a balanced and friendly relationship with Moscow. A relationship that will not be based on geo-political interests and a desire to influence the situation in Moldova. A relationship in which we will see a real desire that will help us solve the Transnistrian conflict and to withdraw from our territory the military and ammunition forces. "
At the end of his speech, the prime minister said that it is a common interest for the Eastern Europe to became as predictable and stable as possible.
