Paşcani mine tragedy. Three people to stand trial
Chairman of the Production Cooperative "Orizont Extragere" from Paşcani village, Criuleni district, along with the head of the sector and the person responsible for underground work conditions from the same Cooperative will stand trial.
Prosecutors have finalized the investigation and sent the files to the court, accusing the three men for breaching mining safety rules, which resulted in the death of three people.

The tragedy took place on 20 November 2017, when the mine, located 2.5 km North-West from Paşcani, collapsed.
During works, rocks begun falling from the ceiling on a surface of around 90 square meters, causing the death of 3 employees.
In order to compensate material and moral damage, prosecutors have seized multiple real estates and properties, namely: a field, an apartment and three cars - all belonging to the suspects.

Two of the three accused have admitted their guilt, having made an agreement with prosecutors in exchange for a written confession.
At the moment, the suspect are forbidden from leaving the country. If found guilty they risk form 3 to 10 years behind bars.
