Dragobete celebrated at Gheorghe Asachi Lyceum from the Capital
Pupils from Gheorghe Asachi Lyceum from the Capital were congratulated on Dragobete and were gifted a heart and a flag brooch.
ODIP association went around 14 educational institution from Chisinau. Meanwhile, Moldovans are raiding the shops to purchase a gift for their second half.
Good mood, romantic music and many hearts. This is how the morning was spend by many pupils from a lyceum from the Capital. The young people claim that they could not wait for Dragobete because it is a good day to make confessions.
"A day when you can receive kisses. I was given a heart by my colleagues at the entrance."
"This is the day of love and you can use it to confess you feelings, through gifts and beautiful words."
"For me Dragobete is the day of love. I waited for it because I wish to gift my mother a heart."
Teachers were also surprised by the pupil's gesture.
"It is very beautiful and unique. I am happy they respect our tradition and celebrate our holidays" physics teacher from Gheorghe Asachi Lyceum, Tamara Rusu said.
"Surprises continue and we are happy to indulge. You have a flag brooch, will you wear it? -Of course! Especially on such a day!"
While the Lyceum's director appreciated the pupil's acts, they were not allowed to skip classes.
"We decided to not shorten classes on this day and 1st March - the day when our lyceum was established" director of Gheorghe Asachi Lyceum, Boris Volosatîi said.
The event was organized by ODIP fourth year in a row.
"We wish for 24 February to remain being the day of love for all Romanians" ODIP representative, Mihai Soltan said.
Meanwhile, Moldovans are raiding the shops to purchase a gift for their second half.
"Those hearts can be gifted to men, because they are blue. I think I will buy it."
"Hearts represent love and I share it for my husband and daughter. I wish to gift them hearts."
"I wish to buy something nice for my boyfriend. I have not decided what yet, but I wish it to be special. Something cute and from the heart."
"Men favor heart-shaped soap and red items. Women tend to purchase sets containing multiple products" seller Natalia Bisonova said.
Dragobete is a traditional Romanian holiday. It is believed that young people who meet on 24 February will share a love that will last all year.
