More Moldovans are transferring money home
Citizens of Moldova living abroad are sending more money home. In January, 94 million USD have entered the country, by 26% more than in a similar period in 2017, shows the Central Bank's data.
In January, from EU states were transferred nearly 37% of the total amount of money, by 3% more than in December 2017. Another 28% came form CIS countries, by nearly 5% more than in December of last year.
In this ranking, Russia takes first place, 25 million USD being transferred from this country. Still, the number has decreased by 8 million USD compared to December 2017.
At the same time, a slight growth is registered in Israel, from where Moldovans sent home 19.5 million USD. Third places takes Italy, from where around 12 million USD were transferred.
Data of the Central Bank also shows that nearly half of the money were transferred in USD. Being followed by 45% sent in euro and 5.5% in Ruble
