Pavel Filip: We want to finish the pipeline construction till the end of this year
Within the Government's session, Pavel Filip declared that the gas tube works take a year and 11 months, but the authorities will try to finish everything till the end of this year.
"As you have seen yesterday, we have guests in Chisinau. Romanian prime minister, Viorica Dancila came to visit us with a delagation. Among the topics that we discussed yesterday, there was the topic of natural gas.
Also, the Transgaz director was among the delegation's members as well as the director of the National Energy Regulatory Agency in Bucharest, and this was not a coincidence, because a privatization contest for the Vestmoldtransgaz gas pipeline in Chisinau was completed a year before.
You have seen that Transgaz, a Romanian company, won the privatization contest for Vestmoldtransgaz. In the next thirty days the contract will be signed and you will transfer the money for the privatization of these companies.
Please, Minister Gaburici, that in this period we will be able to do our homework. These are the amendments to the law on public activity, which will later allow for the construction permit and a Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline, but also the connection to the internal network.
It is a very important, very ambitious project, of course I wanted to be completed by the end of this year. The privatization program envisages one year and 11 months, but if we mobilize, we can move forward by the end of the year. It is about the energy security of an ensemble, and that it is better for us that this investment is directly from the Government of the Republic of Moldova, a foreign investor of care are all expertise and competence in this field.
So, Minister Gaburici, please join us in these terms so that we can do everything we can once we have time to go outside, please do all the steps taken by the Moldovan authorities to speed up the entire gas pipeline project. "
