Inter-parliamentary Summit in Chisinau. At the event will gather close to 150 officials and renown specialists who will debate current security issue

Regional security challenges will be discussed today in Chisinau, within the inter-parliamentary summit hosted by the Moldovan Parliament.

Within the even "Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Eastern Partnership and current security challenges" the three countries will sign a declaration on the European Integration perspectives and the current security issues.

The idea of organizing such a summit belongs to the Parliaments Presidents of the three countries. At the event will gather close to 150 officials and renown specialists, including Presidents of Parliaments, Members of the European Parliament and representatives of United States Congress, as well as well known local and international experts.

The event will include debates, discussions and conclusions on the propaganda and fake information issue. The "Providing a reply" will be bases on the current propaganda issue from the region and the methods of fighting against it.

Among the speakers there will be the Central Eurasia expert, the Future Europe Initiative and the Atlantic Council's Strategic and Security Center Scowcroft, Michael Carpenter, and Saeima's President, Latvia, Ināra Mūrniece. The Panel will be moderated by Geysha Gonzalez, the Associate Director of the Eurasia Center of the Atlantic Council.

 
The discussions about the economic growth and the state of law within the Eastern Partnership will be addressed by Ryszard Terlecki, Deputy Mayor of the Republic of Poland, Anders Aslund, expert at the Eurasia Center of the Atlantic Council,  who will debate, along with other participants, the current challenges in Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine. They will also cover actions that can be taken by the EU and the US to support reforms. The moderator of this panel is Asif Chaudhry, former US Ambassador to Moldova.
 
The electric energy security will be the topic of the third panel that will concentrate on the actual evolution of the gas proving from Russia and strengthening the energetic independence in the region. The moderator of the panel will be Timothy Fairbank, the Central Eurasia and Atlantic Council expert.
 
The associate director of the Defense Research and Security Research Unit, Janathan Eyal will moderate the panel about the common security, especially about the unsolved conflicts from the three countries. Among the speakers there will be the Ambassadors John Herbst and Alexander Vershbow.
 
Among the Summit participants from Chisinau:
Andrian Candu, the President of Republic of Moldova Parliament, Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament President of Georgia, Andriy Parubiy, the President of Supreme Rada of Ukraine.
 
Also, at the event will participate many experts, such as executive vice president at the Atlantic Council of the United States, Damon Wilson, former United States Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, David Kramer,  Chairman of the International Advisory Council at the Center for Social and Economic Research, Anders Åslund, Coordinator for the Office of Reconstruction and Stabilization, John Herbst, Ambassador Asif Chaudhry, Associate Director, Strategic Research Partnerships, and International Directo, Jonathan Eyal, Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, former Deputy Secretary-General of NATO, as well as other international and regional experts.


Irena Degutiene, the deputy President of Lithuania Seismas,  Nataliia Katser-Buchkovska, Subcomission President, the commission for the energetic nad fuel complex, nuclear politics and safety, Ukraine Supreme, Agnia Grigas, superior researcher,  Eurasia center, Atlantic Council; Timothy Fairbank, superior researcher.

Republic of Moldova and Georgia established diplomatic relations on June 25 1992. In April 2014, Presidents of Parliaments from Chisinau and Georgia held first official meeting. In June 2017, Presidents of Parliaments form Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia have requested the European Parliament to bring into force a resolution with clearly stated perspectives on those three countries to speed up the democratic transformation and progresses.
