Declaration of Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine at the inter-parliamentary summit on current security challenges
Presidents of Parliaments of Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine declared that European integration is the single and most efficient instrument to ensure prosperity, security, sustainable development and democracy for their countries. Was the declaration made by Andrian Candu, at the inter-parliamentary summit, held today in Chisinau.
"We, presidents of Parliaments of Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine consider that European integration is the single and most efficient instrument to ensure prosperity, security, sustainable development and democracy for our countries.
We recognize the Easter Partnership (EP) as a strong mechanism to promote reforms with this aim.
We restate that implementing the EU Association Agreement and Free Trade Zone with European union are the key aspects those three countries took upon themselves. We recognize that this process creates favorable conditions for a functional EU integration of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Therefore, the Association Agreements and linked documents will serve as a model for intensive cooperation with EU for the years to come.
We, as Presidents of Parliaments, are willing to play an important role in ensuring that all our obligations are implemented efficiently and in time, bigger prospects for integration and parliamentary scrutiny in this regard.
We restate our adherence to international norms and laws regarding territorial sovereignty and integrity, as well as ensure that they are respected. Here, we are deeply concerned of Russian troops that continue to remain within the territory of Republic of Moldova, while Russian military continue to interfere in other shapes in Georgia and Ukraine.
We are deeply concerned by the coordinated foreign support, for separatist movements, stirring up hatred based on ethnicity and language, operations for misinformation though mass-media, social networks and internet: discrediting all decisions made by the Government aiming to create stronger relations with EU and NATO through propaganda, invented accusations and laughable historic references.
We are deeply concerned by the worsening situation in the humanitarian field and security in conflict zones. We condemn the systematic breach of human rights, including illegal arrests, crimes and impunity of those who control occupied lands of Ukraine and Georgia, limiting property rights and other acts of discrimination.
We recognize that our societies' flexibility and answers to security threats are first of all based on achievements in continuous consolidation of democratic institutions and increasing citizens' prosperity.
We appreciate our partner's obligations to support our development and aspirations to consolidate democracy, stability, peace and sustainable economic development.
We request the Government of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to draw common obligations, along with fitting mechanisms to strengthen cooperation in terms of defense and security, to increase the capacity to fight against threats of the hybrid war and implement projects for infrastructure and energy integration.
We request all parties interested in supporting us to investigate and take appropriate actions on any illegal attempts to coordinate certain states empathizing on territorial integrity, national security and democracy in our countries.
We urge our colleagues from EU and EU institutions, as well as from U.S. to continue supporting Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine in their difficult path, but one necessary for democratic reforms."
At the event "Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Eastern Partnership and current security challenges" Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine will sign a declaration on the European Integration perspectives and the current security issues.
