Chisinau City Hall lost, within 2016-2017 period, one billion lei following the abusive landscaping schemes. At least that's what a Court of Auditors report shows. Among the abusively occupied areas there is a land in Valea Trandafirilor Park.
According to the municipality, the owner has privatized this property in Valea Trandafirilor Park, but has not been satisfied with it and has abusively occupied an area of four ha as a land.
People are unsatisfied with the way this building was built.
"It's not normal in the park to be private, it's a public park."
"Here is for the people, to walk the children, look at how many houses have been built around."
"Here is the rest area, for all ages, starting with small dots and ending with retirees."
Another abusively occupied land is on Muncesti highway. According to the authorities, the landlord has exceeded the area he owns and has restricted the land of a neighbor. And this would have happened with the approval of the Municipal Council.
"Go to see there, almost, see how they have breached all the laws. Fence, yes, you see the rest."
"Of course I do not agree."
According to the branch of Botanica, the authorization projects are developed by the Department of Architecture and approved by CMC.
"But when we are notified by the Architecture Department that a land was abusively occupied, then we intervene through our services and release that land," said Oleg Răţoi, the preacher of the Botanica sector.
The interim Mayor of Chisinau, Silvia Radu, has said it will ask the law enforcement agencies to hold the guilty persons accountable.
"Those in the municipality, who have accepted this, will also be held accountable, because I do not think it has not been seen or just today," said Silvia Radu, interim mayor of Bucharest.
The interim secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council stated that he did not comment on the situation.
