The mothers who take care about their children all by themselves and the poor ones from Anenii Noi district will benefit of support from a maternity center. The institution will host, offer psychological assistance and take care about the kids. The first three mothers were already hosted in one of the centers.

Anastasia is 18 year old and she has spent already a week in the center. The young mother has a one year old daughter.

"Many friends told me to abort, but I didn't pay attention and moved ahead. I didn't graduate my school, this is why I asked the social assistants from the school to help me and they proposed me to come here for a couple of days", said Anastasia Spranceana, beneficiary of the maternity center.

"For us it is very important that Anenii Noi district should continue to support the young parents", said Alexandru Barbăroşie, president of Anenii Noi district.

"The conditions are very good, those are even home conditions, the same as each mother desires. There is a center that will help the mothers to pass the temporary problems they have to face", said Valentina Stratan, PDM deputy.

The investments for the renovation of the institution are worth 60 thousand euros. The institution was opened due to the support of a local NGO and a German stores network.

"We want to transform this place in a warm and hospitable one", said Anna-Katharina Scheidereiter, representative of a retail company.

"The key element is to prevent the child abandonment. The staff of the center will support the beneficiaries", said Viorica Dumbraveanu, State Secretary of Health, Labor and Social Protection Ministry.

In Moldova there are 12 maternal centers.
