Norway is not the most happy country from the world, it was over ranked in the World Happiness Rank 2018. The rank presents the top 156 most happy countries of the world. Republic of Moldova ranks 67.

Last year, Finland ranked 5 and managed to over rank its neighbor, Norway. The rank was made by ONU, relates BBC.

The top was based on the level of satisfaction among the citizens of 156 countries with regard to many aspects such as GDP per capita, social assistance, life expectancy, lack of corruption, social freedom and generosity. As in previous years, the top ten is dominated by northern countries (5), while at the opposite is the Burundian African country, where the most unhappy people are. Romania ranks 52, and Moldova on 67. The United States and the UK occupy positions 18 and 19, respectively.

Although it is one of the richest countries, America has dropped four positions, the factors responsible for the decline of happiness being the weakening of social assistance networks, the presence of corruption in government institutions and the business environment, and the diminution of confidence in public institutions. Also, obesity, depression and the crisis of opioids are other issues that affect the happiness of Americans.

An important topic in realizing the rank was the happiness level of the immigrants from 117 countries. The north countries obtained a good result at this category too.

"It is clear that the north countries have good living conditions", declared Meik Wiking, the executive director of the Happiness Search Institute from Copenhagen.

"A great revel is the comparison of the immigrants and residents level of happiness. The ones who immigrate in countries with a better life level are happier that the residents of the same countries", explained John Helliwell, one of the rank's authors, teacher at British Columbia University.
