Pavel Filip hold meeting with US Ambassador, James Pettit
Prospects for advancement of Moldovan-American relations were discussed today during the meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip with the US Ambassador to Republic of Moldova, James Pettit. The officials reviewed the development of the bilateral strategic dialogue and exchanged views on the Executive's priorities.
In this sense, the Prime minister talked about the implementing process of the International Monetary Fund's Program and mentioned that in the context of the evaluation mission, evolved between March 15 and 27, IMF will have the possibility to analyze the last evolution of the national economy. Also, the Prime minister reiterated that the authorities will fulfill the conditions for obtaining the microfinancial assistance of the EU.
Pavel Filip said that one of Moldova's targets is to continue the Justice reform and provide the transparency of the judicial system of the anti-corruption institutions. Among the most important actions, there is the elaboration of new projects of law that will strengthen the Judicial system and a way to evaluate the integrity of the Judges.
At his turn, James Pettit encouraged the authorities to continue implementing the reforms and reconfirmed the support of the US Government in realizing the modernization of Moldva. Within the discussions, the officials also referred to soling the transnistrean conflict and stressed the necessity of the 5+2 format negotiations.
