Cat show in Chisinau. People could admire close to 200 felines
People could admire today close to 200 felines at an expo hosted in the Capital. Representatives from five countries have brought to Chisinau their most beautiful and handsome cats that impressed all visitors.
Despite them not being up for sale, the price of a pure breed from the expo starts from a few hundred euro and reaches to a few thousand.
"We take great care of its tail, as this is their pride. At the moment the cat weights 11 kg, but we expect it to grow to 15 kg."
All the felines were groomed for the expo, having arrived from Italy, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Romania.
"They look like teddy bears. A British Shorthair with golden mane costs between 500 and 3000 euro."
Abyssinian cat are believed to be descendants of cats from Egypt, as they look like the felines painted on bronze vases, as well as the ones found buried with pharaohs.
"In Odessa an Abyssinian cat costs between 500 and 600 USD."
"Singapura cats are the smallest breed in the world. It is beautiful and very energetic."
Visitors also had the chance to see a rare breed Devon Rex, brought from Ukraine.
"It has a wavy coat and behaves much like a dog, can lean to bring toys."
"Maine Coon cats are very loving and kind."
"We love animals. We have our own at home, but came to admire the breeds that we cannot possibly afford."
Still, the felines were admired by children as well.
"Do you like it? -Yes, the cat is very big and beautiful."
"I love all white cats. -Why? -Because they are fluffy, beautiful and kind."
"Do you have a cat you loved the most? -Yes. -Which one is it? -The one that lacks fur. They are cute and you can play with them."
Despite not being among the more popular breeds, Sphynx cat have their own advantages.
"They lack fur, meaning that you do not need to take care of it and people suffering from allergies can live peacefully. They skin is very similar to that of a human."
"It is unusual, takes some times to get used to such a cat. If you see such a breed in the morning upon opening your eyes, the day will be very interesting."
The exposition takes place at Feroviarilor Cultural Center and is open for visitors tomorrow as well to 17:00.
