In the context of the sharp weather change, on March 18, 2018, Prime Minister Pavel Filip convened the meeting of the Emergency Situations Commission within the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs, Alexandru Jizdan, the IGSU leadership and other crisis management officials.
The management of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations presented a report on the situation in the country, as it was noticed that the decision-makers did not record exceptional situations related to the climatic conditions, and all the routes in the country are practicable.
Alexandru Jizdan said that MAI employees are ready to intervene to help citizens, and the General Police Inspectorate collaborates with rescuers and firefighters to provide the necessary assistance to people who may be at risk.
The Prime Minister urged the National Police to monitor difficult portions of roads and to intervene if necessary. At the same time, the official asks the electricity suppliers to be operational in the case of power cut.
According to IGSU data about the electricity, 5 localities from Hincesti, Ungheni, Cahul and UTA Gagauzia are partially disconnected. For the distribution of skidding on roads, more than 250 technical units were used. According to the information of the State Administration and the Road, the most difficult portions are the following ones: Chisinau - Ungheni routes, near Cornesti, Balti - Falesti, near Bocsa and Edinet - Otaci near Otaci.
Citizens are urged to listen to authorities' messages and avoid traveling around the country. In case of risk situations, people can call Emergency Services at 901, 902 and 903.
