Within the session of the permanent bureau, Andrian Candu came with some declarations on PAS comments regarding military service no longer being compulsory.
"I have never said I gave up on army service. To give up on this service for a period doesn't mean to give it up at all. Many countries already have a professional army. We also want professional soldiers.
Nobody said that we give up on army. The majority of Moldovan citizens want to give up on this service for a period.
It is a pity that PAS blames a position that is supported by all the citizens. Probably, the deputy President of the party didn't discus on this topic with his chiefs. I also think that this puts Maia Sandu in a less favorable situation. We want a professional army. We will support such an initiative", said Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament.
