The explosion that took place at the beginning of the week, at the entrance to a store from Chisinau, was caused by a soviet type grenade. The declaration was made by Minister of Internal Affairs, Alexandru Jizdan. The official added that police officers are now attempting to find how the man gained possession of the explosive.
"It was a grenade made in 1988. Meaning that it was made at the time of Transnistria War. The investigation is ongoing" Alexandru Jizdan said.
The explosion from March 20 claimed the lives of two men and injured another one. The tragedy took place at a convenience store, located at the intersection of Alexei Mateevici and Armenească streets.
