Message stating "Be warned. There is no asphalt in the city!" has appeared at the entrance to Bălţi. This is the way drivers express their displeasure regarding the state of the roads from the city. Some posted harsher messages demanding to know where all the asphalt went to.
A citizen also posted on his Facebook page a video showing roads full of potholes. Previously, authorities announced that Mihai Eminescu boulevard, which is worst off, will be fully repaired.
The works will cost over two million lei. The rehabilitation will take place within the "Roads for Moldova" program, that will repair over 1 200 km of roads. The program was initiated by PDM leader, Vlad Plahotniuc. For this project, investors have offered a total of 1.6 billion lei.
