Within today's session of the Government, Victoria Iftodi, the Justice minister came up with some declarations. She presented the project Common Reference Objective and talked about the modernization of the civil code.

"The project was made by the academic sphere and leaded by the Justice ministry. Thus, it was a work in a group that organized over 70 sessions and four press conferences.

The proposals that came up during the debates are more than 400. Of course, the working group leaded by the Justice Minister analyzed and accepted the most relevant ideas. Especially, they took into consideration the last evolution on European and international arena.

Also, good practices have been examined in over 15 civil codes, such as Germany, France, Romania. We hope and believe that best practices are developed in the spirit of the most transparent private law legislation in the European Union.

The aim is to be in a better correlation with the Vienna regulations and principles on international commodity contracts and the principles of international trade agreements.

The modernization of the civil code aims to make civil legislation more accurate and predictable. To better regulate the rights of the personality and their limits. Better protect the validity of contracts, which will have a positive impact, both in securing civil relations, but will also have an impact on the business environment.

The security of civil relations is indisputable, it is very important for the business environment and for foreign investments. Of course, it also has an impact on the citizen of the Republic of Moldova, because the contracts will be predictable.

I would also like to mention that the regulations bring clarity in the rules of the device and the imperative of the civil code.
