It would take 10 years for Chisinau to become an European city. The affirmation belongs to Interim Mayor Silvia Radu. According to the interim, until now, the Capital has been badly managed, and for this reason, urban development stagnated.
"We had the misfortune in Chisinau to politicize the administration or the interest of a single party, such as the Liberal Party. We have the task of developing the transport infrastructure, we have to see 10 years before we will have in Chisinau those bridges, those roads , those underground passages, those roads that will go underground, to see what will be in the future, "said Silvia Radu, the interim mayor of Chisinau.
Silvia Radu, who is only five months at the helm of the Capital, claims that the modernization of the city is a priority for her, and the first steps in this regard have been already made.
"Previously, there were only 30 million lei for the roads, but we found 100 million only through a superficial passage on the budget, which will allow us to intervene in many streets and even courtyards that are so much expected" , said Silvia Radu, the interim mayor of Chisinau.
The Interim Mayor says that municipal businesses need to work together, because that would allow public money to be managed more efficiently.
"We saw a trolleybuses laundry that can be used for buses, and if we merged them, at least, we will maximize this internal management, which will allow us to spend less money and have a better service" said Silvia Radu, the interim mayor of Chisinau.
Radu believes that the residents of the Capital must participate directly in the management of the municipal budget, as they know better what projects are vital to the city.
"In my direct cooperation and interaction with the citizens when they helped me to solve concrete problems, such as the same long-distance traffic light from Durlesti, which for decades has not been installed," said the interim mayor of Bucharest, Silvia Radu.
The interim president also says that the fight against corruption in the City Hall is about succeeds.
"Even the attitude of the employees changes, knowing that they will be checked, that the tolerant attitude towards corruption is zero, that illegal things will not be allowed, and then this rusty mechanism of the City Hall starts to squeeze," said Silvia Radu, interim of the Capital.
This week, Silvia Radu dismissed No. 1 Hospital director and the Head of the Department of Health for bad management.
