A former head of Fisheries Service was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. According to anticorruption prosecutors, the suspect was found guilty of illegally claiming the belongings of another person, managed by the administration, by using his position.

During 2014-2015, while managing the fishing licence, the suspect gained unaccounted money, amounting to 2 434 190 lei.

The court found him guilty, the suspect having received a 10 year sentence and ordered to pay a compensation of 2 434 190 lei.

The suspect plead not guilty.

The sentence can be appealed.
