EU delegations will pay a visit to Moldova to evaluate the implementation of the Association Agreement
MEPs from the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on Budgets will pay a visit to Republic of Moldova to evaluate the implementation of the Association Agreement and monitor the efficient usage of EU finances. The delegation of Foreign Affairs and Committee will be led by Laima Liucija Andrikienė, while of the Committee on Budgets by Siegfried Mureșan.
The agenda will include meetings with President of Moldovan Parliament Andrian Candu, heads of parliamentary committees and parliamentary groups. Chiefs of the delegations will also hold, at the Parliament, a press conference.
According to the program, the delegations from the European Parliament will also speak with PM Pavel Filip, President Igor Dodon, members of the Government, representatives of National Anticorruption Center, Electoral Commission and Central Bank, representatives of international organizations, civil societies and non-parliamentary parties.
The subjects will be based on reform progress, rule of law, good governance, justice and mass-media, as well as actions taken to fight against corruption.
MEPs from the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on Budgets will also pay a visit to Hâncești, where they will speak with local authorities, parties and civil societies.
Later, the delegation will visit Ukraine to evaluate the implementation of the Association Agreement.
The officials will report the mission's results to the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on Budgets. The delegation will be in Republic of Moldova on April 2 - 6 2018.
