Five doctors and a nurse from Ceadâr-Lunga are investigated for influence peddling and passive corruption
Multiple doctors from Ceadâr-Lunga city were arrested by Anticorruption, on suspicion of influence peddling and passive corruption. They are documented by prosecutors and anticorruption for issuing medical certificates to taxi drivers, for a certain price, without them passing the necessary control.
According to the evidence, one of the nurses was documented in multiple case, for acting with a doctor, whom she would request to issue medical certificates to taxi drivers, as well as people taking the driving test, without examining them.
She was arrested while receiving money from a patient, in exchange of a medical certificate required to extend a transportation license.
Anticorruption officers have searched the offices of five doctors, afterward escorting them for questionings. Supposedly, the doctors received between 500 and 550 lei for each issued certificate.
The investigation is ongoing.
