A fire burst at the Nicolae Milescu- Spătaru Lyceum from Râşcani sector of the Capital. All teachers and pupils were evacuated, after an electric kettle was left plugged in and caught fire.
The lessons were interrupted, while the institution's employees extinguished the flames by themselves. Evacuating the pupils turned out to be troublesome.
"While the pupils were evacuated, some of them decided to take out their phones and take pictures and videos", deputy director of Nicolae Milescu- Spătaru Lyceum, Pavel Serafimciuc said.
On internet appeared videos of how teenagers were going down the stairs, surrounded by thick smoke.
Firefighters were called in to investigate the cause of fire.
"On site, firefighters established that the flames were caused by an electric kettle that was left plugged din. The investigation is ongoing" IGSU press officer, Liliana Pușcașu said.
The institution's administration claims that the short circuit took place after one of the women plugged in the electric kettle and left.
"The kettle was plugged in and that person left for a short time, while the water was boiling" deputy director of Nicolae Milescu- Spătaru Lyceum, Pavel Serafimciuc explained.
Deputy director of Nicolae Milescu- Spătaru Lyceum, declared that the woman who caused the fire will be punished. While all pupils will once again be trained on how to act in dangerous situations.
