Jewish community begun celebrating the Passover
The Jewish community from Republic of Moldova have already begun celebrating Easter. For eight days, Jews will celebrate the Passover, when they were freed from slavery in ancient Egypt. Many Jews gathered in an establishment from Capital to respect all traditions.
Along merry songs and dances, Easter has certain traditions. One of them being a certain diet, when Jews exclude from their menus yeast, while red wine and filled fish becomes a welcomed element.
Another ritual is that when leaning on something, Jews need to solely used their left elbow, as it represents their wish for freedom.
"Most important elements are done at the moment. We celebrate 8 days, while in Israel it is 7 days. Most important element is for every Jewish family to gather on the first night and do certain acts, made out of 15 steps. It aims to strengthen traditions and pass them on to the next generation" Șamșon Daniel explained.
For Jews the Passover commemorates their freedom and a new beginning. In those 8 days of celebration, everyone gathers with their families to celebrate and pass on the traditions.
"For us all the Passover first of all means freedom. This was the day when our ancestors truly felt free."
"Each year, once per year, the Jewish community gathers to celebrate this holiday together."
"This is perhaps the most important holiday for us. Passover is the day when our ancestors stopped being slaves. Each year when we celebrate with our families, each of us tried to escape our own Egypt."
