Evacuation training at National Center for Public Health from Chisinau
Sirens were heard at the National Center for Public Health from Chisinau. In nearly 3 minutes, over 300 people have evacuated the building. Luckily, the evacuation was only a simulation to test the staff.
Employees have mobilized and quickly left the building. They claim that such exercises are of much help in case true emergencies happen.
"I was in my office when the siren was heard. I left the building using the nearest stairs, as we are instructed. All doors were opened. We tried to take care of one another and not to push anyone" an employee said.
"I was not stressed, but exited fast once the evacuation was announced. This is a good training. -Why? -They used to do this before. People are therefore prepared in case something truly happens" another employee said.
"I left the office in a hurry and used the nearest stairs to exit the building. Such exercises are necessary for all staff to know how to evacuate. They should also be made regularly in schools" an employee declared.
"I believe that I reacted fast. Everyone got organized and evacuated without troubles, to avoid any incidents" another employee said.
Director of the National Center for Public Health claims that it was the first time she organized an evacuation training.
"I believe we should organize such training more often, so that people will know not to panic. We have laboratories, there are risks, chemical, biological and radiation risks" director Luminița Suveică announced.
Representatives from Emergency Situations Services have also found some breaches, namely lack of a permanent siren.
"At the moment they lack a siren announcing evacuation.Perhaps in the near future it will be installed. Otherwise the evacuation took place fast" chief of Chisinau Emergency Situations Services, Liviu Mîrzecu explained.
Such training are being performed after PM Pavel Filip requested for all cultural and recreation institutions to be investigated.
