Motorcyclists and bicyclists are getting back on the road
Once the weather warms up, motorcycles are getting back on the road. Despite patrol officers permanently watching over the highways to avoid accidents and breaches, people using motorcycles and scooters could care less.
Carelessness caused over the past 24 hours 3 accidents, involving motorcyclists, resulting into 6 injured and 3 killed.
The worst accident took place last evening in Răuțel village, Fălești district. While speeding, a motorcyclist has collided with a minibus. It resulted in the motorcycle's 26-year-old driver, his 20-year-old passenger and a 77-year-old elder being killed, while another 3 people were injured.
To avoid accident, INP recommends people to always use a helmet and wear motorcycle clothes; to always be cautious of those around them, especially drivers; to always keep their headlights on and ensure that the vehicle can always be seen by other drivers in the rear-view mirror.
Bicyclists are also warned to be more careful, especially in low visibility, when they must always wear reflective gear; to avoid crossing the road; to make sure it is safe to change directions and always ensure that the bicycle is moving; to keep as close to the road's edge as possible, while if the bicyclists are in a group, to go in a row.
In order to reach your destination safety, always make sure to respect the traffic law, taking into account the weather and abide all indications of patrol officers.
