A young viticulturist from Ialoveni suffered a 300 thousand lei damage after he have bought bad quality cuttings. Andrei Loghin worked in the UK for three years and returned back home n 2017 to start a business here.
The man bought 11 land ha in Horasti and planted 22 000 cuttings, purchased from a nursery in Straseni district, and four thousand of them haven't grew up. Initially, the producer assured the farmer that he will return the money, but he didn't fulfill his promise.
"I have come to the understanding that I will get seedlings from elsewhere, and he will return my money. I understand that I should not wait for the money that he does not intend to return. The cuttings were worth almost 300 000 lei", said Adrian Loghin viticulturist.
Indignant that he can not recover his money, the young man asked for help from the authorities. A committee of representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Agency for Food Safety went on the spot to assess the damage.
"Those who did not catch up, 90% is that the seedlings were poor, some of them had poorly developed radicular system", said Valeriu Cebotari, senior consultant, the Ministry of Agriculture.
The cperson who sold the cuttings activates on the basis of the authorization issued by the National Agency for Food Safety. The officials say they will examine the situation.
"We will go to this person and monitor the situation. A program for the production of certified propagating material and cuttings is started", said the head of the Seminar Control Division, ANSA, Dumitru Rusu.
The representative of the Straseni district firm refused to comment on the case, but specified that the decision to return the damages would be taken by the owner.
"They will meet and clarify themselves."
The farmer and his family say they will not accept damages being turned with cuttings because they fear the situation could be repeated.
"We propose to return the money to put quality cuttings", said Vladimir Loghin.
If the problem is not resolved amicably, the viticultor will seek appeal to the Court.
