The road going around Comrat might be built by 2021. Authorities announced that an auction was opened for the works, the cost will be revealed after a company will be chosen.

"At the first stage were selected 16 companies. Starting April 26 they will be able to make offers, which will be evaluated. At the moment, all traffic is passing through Comrat, but once the highway will be built, the urban zone will be less busy, as many vehicles will start going around it" deputy director of State Road Administration, Serghei Polişciuc mentioned.

The highway will be 19 km long. It will solve the problem many locals complain of, namely the noises and deterioration of houses, caused by trucks heading to Giurgiuleşti, that are forced to pass right near their houses. The highway will be build with the support of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and European Investment Bank.
