Justice Munister urges lawyers to be more insistent when defending citizens' rights

Victoria Iftodi, the Justice minister held a meeting with the representatives of the Lawyers Union from the Republic of Moldova. Within the discussions, she urged the lawyers to be more insistent when they defense the citizens' rights.
"The target of a lawyer is essential for fulfilling the justice. You have a lot of tools to use in order to defend the citizens' rights", said Victoria Iftodi.
Also, the minister declared that the exception of unconstitutionality is very important as it is the only way to raise the judicial activism.
The meeting occurred within the "Making efficient the lawyers' activity in order to protect people's rights and liberties" meeting, that targets to strengthen the lawyers' knowledge regarding applying those in practice.
At the meeting also participated Alexandru Tanase, former president of the Constitutional Court, member of the Venice Commission and Rodica Secrieru, assistant attorney at the Constitutional Court.
