The central highway from Cahul town was repaired after 20 years. Totally, there were repaired 2,6 road kilometers. At the same time, there were arranged the sidewalks. The project is worth 37 million lei and was funded by the Regional Development Fund.

Both the drivers and pedestrians are glad about it.

"It would be better if it was like that everywhere else. -How it was earlier? -Very bad. The roads were covered by holes."

"I think that everybody is pleased."

The local authorities say that the highway was in a very bad condition.

"It was not only difficult to be crossed, but it was creating different difficulties", said Nicolae Dandis, the mayor of Cahul.

According to Liviu Volconovici,t he minister of Regional Development, the road is very important.

"Cahul unites the national roads Chişinău- Giurgiuleşti, Hânceşti- Cahul. The 1200 road kilometers that were promised will be built till the end of the year", said the minister of Regional Development.

Elena Bacalu, deputy said that other roads from Cahul will be also repaired.

"The Hânceşti - Cantemir - Cahul and Ciumai- Giurgiuleşti will be repaired soon. The roads of the people who live near Prut are a problem", said Elena Bacalu, PDM deputy.

Previously, Vlad Plahotniuc, the PDM leader announced  a national program that will repair of 1 200 kilometers of road. The project is worth 1,6 milliard lei and were allocated from the Road Fund and the State budget.
