Six cities will be able to carry out development projects totaling four million lei, money provided by Poland. The grant was won by a contest of the City Halls from Edinet, Ocnita, Bălţi, Ungheni, Cimişlia and Comrat.
The local authorities have received training and study visits in Poland. In Edinet, for example, the 800,000 lei will be invested for the "Vasile Alecsandri" Park.
"We are making the access path, paved the sidewalks, then we will buy outdoor fitness equipment and equipment for children's playgrounds", said Edinet Deputy Mayor Rodica Vasilcov.
"We will receive a sum of 490,000 lei from the Solidarity Fund of Poland and rehabilitate a central area of the town of the Copilaria Square in which will be a mini-football field combined with a field tennis court", said the Mayor of Cimislia, Gheorghe Raileanu.
In Comrat, the grant will go for the renovation of a kindergarten.
"I participated and I see that very quickly this year we can solve this project. The roof will be changed, we are arranging the territory and we are doing so that the interior is warmer," said Comrat Mayor, Serghei Anastasov.
The Polish government wants to expand its funding program.
"We are talking about a start that will have an impact not only on cities but also on the whole area and surrounding villages. We want to implement this methodology everywhere in the Republic of Moldova," said Bartlomiej Zdaniuk, Ambassador of Poland to Moldova.
"An important role is played by the Regional Development Agencies that have been created, they play an increasingly visible and visible role in society, they become the force of assimilation and distribution not only of financial sources, but also of innovative ideas" said MADRM State Secretary, Iurie Uşurelu.
The Polish Government's financing program is at its fourth stage.
