Thousands of South Korean labour union members gathered in downtown Seoul on Tuesday to demand the government immediately scraps the restructuring of the shipbuilding and automobile industries.
Throughout the rally, the members chanted slogans urging the government to implement the 10,000 Korean won (9.34 US dollar) minimum wage as soon as possible and turn all non-regular workers into regular employees with equal pay and treatment.
The members also criticised Samsung's attempt to discontinue its labour union and demanded the government reform South Korean conglomerates that abuse the rights of workers.
