Andrian Candu: Starting today, parties will be funded through bank transfer
The President of the parliament, Andrian Candu talked about the changes within the legislation, in a press conference. The first thing that was discusses is that the women and the young will be proposed and supported in politics by other political parties and the second is that the political parties will be financed through bank transfer.
"Within the session of the Parliament, he talked about the role of the women in politics. According to the modifications, that were operated today by the legislation, there will be additional financial support from the state budget for promoting the women to get involved in politics.
The second change referrers to the funding of the parties. In Moldova, the political parties can be financed by persons and donations. I think it is an abuse, because there are even corruption elements here. This is why, today, within the Parliament, we voted for a modification that limits the donations for up to three salaries. Only three salaries can be donated for a party. Any bank will ask for such information. This is how we will adjust our standards to the European ones", said Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament.
Within the conference, Andrian Candu also spoke of developing civil societies. The terms of registering an NGO and civil society being reduced from 30 to 15 days.
"Another subject I wish to mention is developing the civil societies. A new law was approved regarding NGOs. The legislation gained new elements and was simplified. The registration therm was shortened from 30 to 15 days, the benefits for some organizations are clearly explained, such as the public utility group with 2% reference or other funding elements.
For the first time the law will change, granting political parties or political movements the power to influence an NGO, as it is done in foreign countries such as Germany, USA etc.
This is a big step for the Parliament, through political will this project was approved and following, we will work with civil societies upon this project. I hope that in the second session we will be able to bring it into force" Andrian Candu declared.
