Developing sphere of entrepreneurs discussed by Commission of Economy, Budget and Finances

The evolution in the development of the small and medium enterprises sector, after the approval of the new law, was heard today in the parliamentary committee on economy, budget and finance.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Iulia Costin, reported on the actions taken by the authorities after adjusting the national legislative framework to the European principles for the development of the small and medium-sized enterprises sector, provisions in force in December 2016.
According to the rapporteur, the new regulations aim at ensuring and increasing the competitiveness and performance of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as facilitating adjustment to economic and technological change.
At the same time, the legal provisions established the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Organization (ODIMM) as a public institution implementing state policy in support of the development of small and medium enterprises.
Iulia Costin also referred to existing state programs for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
She mentioned the Draft of the National Pilot Program Concept "START FOR YOUNG PEOPLE: a sustainable home business for the years 2018-2020".
Its purpose is to support young entrepreneurs in launching a business in the country with a strong focus on innovative businesses that are aligned or would contribute to sustainable development. The project is at the stage of finalization and approval.
"The PARE 1 + 1" Remittance Removal Program "enjoys increased interest among migrants returning home and investing remittances in creating and developing their own businesses. The maximum amount of the non-reimbursable financing allocated from the PARE 1 + 1 Program is from 200 thousand lei to 250 thousand lei, "the rapporteur said.
According to her, the total amount of approved grants for the 1 180 companies is 226.42 million lei and the planned investments in the economy are 726.11 million lei, respectively, each leu granted in the form of a grant generated about 3.2 lei investment in the economy.
The State Secretary also spoke about women's and social entrepreneurship development programs, support for newly created businesses, support for enterprises with export potential and internationalization.
In turn, MEPs have asked many questions and, in conclusion, have appreciated the new development actions for small and medium-sized enterprises. Hearing authorities on specific subjects is part of the parliamentary scrutiny procedure for implementing legislation.
