The sleet from two days ago has damaged around 500 hectares of sunflowers from Chircăieşti village, Căuşeni district.

According to Civil Protection and Exceptional Situations Service, in the same settlement were also destroyed 90 hectares of canola, 2 hectares of grapes and 7 hectares of orchards.

Local Mayor Galina Ceban declared for Publika TV that the ice chunks also ruined the roads from the village, while repair works will cost 20 000 lei.

The Mayor also believes that in the following days, more requests will be submitted for damage estimation.
