Government will take new measures to decrease unemployment
Creating jobs in villages and towns will be encouraged, while the chanced of being employed will increase, for both citizens of Moldova and foreigners. The Government has approved today an action plan for 2018 to implement the National Labor Strategy.
The document includes four aims: developing people's competence to increase their chances in being employed, ensure good governance of labor, evaluating the work potential of migration for sustainable development and creating jobs.
To develop small and medium-sized enterprises loans will be made more accessible. An industrial park will also be opened in Comrat, creating over 2 500 jobs. Support programs will also launch aiming at young entrepreneurs, finances for businesses managed by women and grants for farmers.
Employment opportunities for Moldovans who returned from abroad will also be diversified, as well as for foreigners who seek employment in Moldova. Vulnerable, disabled and recently released from jail people will also receive support in finding a work place. The state will allocate over 900 million lei create jobs in villages and 34 million lei as indemnities for young doctors who will go to live in villages.
Actions will also be taken to train specialists, provide internships, offer support to unemployed and combat payment off the books.
For all the measures included in the document are required 1.2 billion lei. The expenses will be covered by the state budget and foreign sources.
Over 2017, from the 42 000 registered unemployed people, 16 500 found jobs.
