A bearded police officer has impressed the public with his ‘magnificent’ facial hair, wrote dailymail.

PC Graham Smith’s 18 cm red beard has been turning heads on his patch in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

The Gloucester-based PC could be set to take the ‘Britain’s most hipster cop’ title. 

In 2015 Peter Swinger was given the Hipster Cop mantle after images of him appeared during a protest march in London.

Ex-soldier Peter was snapped looking suave with a curly mustache at the EDL rally.

However, ginger-bearded PC Smith could be set to steal his thunder after pictures of him were uploaded to Twitter.

Graham, who is an officer for the Stroud Urban beat, was spotted on social media after seizing cannabis from people in a local park on Tuesday.

Social media users called his beard 'magnificent' after spotting his selfie. 

In 2015 police in Gloucester made the headlines over proposed uniform changes – which reportedly included beard nets.

The regulations included crackdowns on visible tattoos, fake tan and heavy bronzer.

The officers won support from the public who said they are fine with facial hair.
